Hi I'm Daniel .
Ever wanted to ride your bike across a lake ?
How about with a colorful sculpture on it ?
Well you can if you enter the Boulder Kinetic Sculpture Challange ,
held every year at the Boulder resevoir here in Colorado U.S.A.
or the original Arcata to Ferndale world champion race in california
Kinetics is a human powered amphibius vehicle challange , about four and a half miles long ,
with about half on water and half on land with various obsticals like mud / sand
/prairie with defensive prairrie dogs and large holes /narrow bridges and sudden drop offs
We are Dorrellean Motors , a team that has entered the Boulder Kinetics every
year since it's start in 1979(80?) .
Each team may have as many pilots
as the craft can seat and
for each pilot you have you may have a pit crew member , to help push drag and carry the
sculpture through the course , each team also has a judge to accept bribes
while judging all the other teams .
It takes a lot of time and money to build a craft and run a team , but it
can be worth it , we do it
"for the T shirt"
but in Arcata they do it
" FOR THE GLORY "
