You're asking me how to build a machine for the Chalenge ?
I have no idea how you're going to build your wonderful machine !
Some people use an old bike whith some inner tubes and oars , while others create wonderful creations , taking months of time and fortunes to build . What you could come up with , I have no idea , and niether do you I'd guess
well heres some tips , I hope they help !
1 picture eveything you wish to put on your craft , in a backpack that you are wearing ,can it be lighter ?
I say this even though some crafts weigh over a ton !
2 Try not to let it wiegh as much as a tank , just survive the course like one !
3 Make it colorful , large and wonderful , with lots of whimsy and merriement
4 don't tell your friends( possible pit crew ) about the mud .
5 use light and realy strong stuff to build it out of , so it won't bust
6 Try to talk anyone whith a machine shop or other needed tools or pieces , to join the teem , so that they can help build it and also fix it when it breaks on the course .
7 Remember the spare parts and tools to fix it when it breaks on the course .
8 Don't let the tool and parts kit weigh more than the garage they came from .
9 tie , tape or bolt the tools to the craft , with a latching lid , unless they float .
10 tie a float on a 25'+ rope to the craft as a marker , even if it isn't going to sink .
11 Remember the lever(s) ! It can break things .
12 make sure the floats hold up all the riders with the tools , parts , sodas , water , dirt , mud , and leaks .
13 ALLOW ALL RIDERS TO ESCAPE , WHICH EVER DIRECTION IT ROLLS AS IT SINKS ! (We have changed designs becouse of a near drowning).
14 Make friends with mister Merphy .
15 We have folded numerous reinforced mountain bicycle wheels and bent a motorcycle rim .
